Roger Bayliss

Roger Bayliss is an experienced construction industry professional, with excellent business and project management skills. He has recently established his own company, Baysium, providing non-executive / advisory / mentoring services.

In his most recent role Roger was a member of the Executive Directorate of MTR Corporation Ltd in Hong Kong. In February 2021 he established the Capital Works Business Unit, which he led as Capital Works Director.  The business unit manages MTR’s capital works portfolio, including a number of multi US$ billion railway extension projects and renewal & upgrading projects on the operating railway.

Previously he worked for Skanska AB, a Swedish international contractor-developer, his last role being Senior Vice President Operational Efficiency for the Group.  This covered excellent project delivery, digital, research & innovation and knowledge management.  During this period he led the development of the company’s digital strategy.

Prior to that he was a member of the Skanska UK executive team and before that he was Construction Director for British Airports Authority.  His first stint in Asia was also with the MTR Projects Division, prior to which he started his career with Costain, a UK civils contractor.

Roger takes a keen interest in business improvement and is a strong advocate of modern methods of construction and digitalization.

Dr. Atif Asar

Dr Atif Ansar's expertise is on the confluence of large physical assets and technology. His research on $1B+ big capital projects—such as road, rail, energy, transport, or connectivity —is widely cited and frequently featured in the media. He is pioneering research on the use of technologies such as robotics and Artificial Intelligence in improving the performance and productivity of megaprojects—measured against cost, time, benefits, and environmental metrics. He is the chairman and co-founder of a big data and advanced analytics firm called Foresight Works, which works with Fortune 500 companies in capitalintensive industries such as power utilities, oil & gas or mining firms, and construction and engineering firms.

Atif has advised Board and C-level teams on capital allocation decisions. He has worked with HM Treasury in the UK, the World Bank, Fortune 500 companies, and served as an external partner-level advisor to McKinsey & Company. Atif has a PhD from Oxford University and a bachelor’s from Georgetown University.
