The World Needs to Build More. $20 Trillion More. How Will We Do It?

June 28th 10 am PST

Learn innovative strategies to meet the skyrocketing demand for capital projects expected by 2030.

In the coming decade, annual construction industry expenditure is projected to double, reaching a staggering $20 trillion worldwide (Statista). However, a majority of organizations lack the operational capacity, speed, and efficiency to manage this surge in demand.

Currently, cost overruns for an average megaproject approach 40% of the initial budget, while delays span anywhere from six months to two years (McKinsey). In addition to these existing challenges for project delivery comes a new constraint going forward: carbon. Green operations will be integral to investment in and management of assets.

To excel at delivery, organizations must implement measures to optimize capital investment for the new generation of assets. Here are some strategies and methodologies to consider:

  • Forging robust public-private partnerships
  • Tapping into technology and innovation
  • Refining project delivery processes
  • Leveraging advanced analytics
  • Building relationships with local communities
  • Integrating sustainability as a core strategy

We invite you to join us and our esteemed advisor and guest, Jim Ellis, President of CURT and a veteran C-suite leader with over four decades of capital project experience for a conversation about the multidimensional approach needed to confront the colossal $20 trillion annual capital challenge by 2030.
